How it works
-
Your directory represents the set of people you might be willing to share feedback about, if another Forge community member requests it.
To make directory creation fast and easy for you, we automatically create your directory with an upload of your first degree Linkedin connections.
If another community member requests feedback on a person in your directory who you have not worked meaningfully with (or at all!), you can always decline to share feedback.
In uploading your Linkedin connections, none of your connections will be notified in any way, ever.
-
Create a Feedback Request form for the person you would like to know more about.
Feedback Request forms comprise 6 “one-click-answer” questions and an optional voice note.
From there, we send an anonymous request on your behalf to all community members who have experience working with that person (from a practical standpoint: all the users who have that person logged in their directory.) Each community member who accepts your request can then submit their anonymous, ephemeral, private feedback back to you.
The person about which the feedback form is created is never notified, in any way.
-
After receiving feedback from various community members, you can let each of them know you appreciate their insights.
We allow you to send anonymous Amazon Gift Cards as a token of your appreciation and/or a thank you gif.
If one of our community members went “above and beyond” and shared a highly detailed voice note, why not send them 1$ to redeem on Amazon!
Community members can redeem all gift codes they receive directly at check-out on Amazon.com.

Use the feedback you have received to develop a hypothesis about your potential new manager, and decide what further questions, if any, you want to ask before accepting that new job.
Insights from our community are intended to kick-start your journey to better understanding the character of your potential new manager; they are not intended to dictate your actions.
"Sharing my feedback on Forge makes me feel like my pain has a purpose."
"A really easy way to collect dots on someone."
"I love Forge. Immensely helpful all around."
"A Glassdoor for People."
"Forge helps employees stand and act together."
"A way to build social credit professionally."
"A good way to centrally gather feedback about potential new coworkers."

As a pattern of data points on which you can develop an informed hypothesis and a set next steps.
Insights from our community are intended to kick-start your journey to Informed Consent; they are not intended to dictate your actions.
For example:
If 6 anonymous replies come back reporting they "rarely" experienced "EQ" when working with the particular hiring manager you requested feedback on, you may decide
to then craft the hypothesis that "this hiring manager might have low EQ." In your next interview with this hiring manager, you can then decide
to then ask him/her specific questions to confirm or nullify this hypothesis for yourself. For example, you could ask: "when have you had a hard time connecting with someone on your team, and what was the root of the difficulty?"
